Can your scalp tell your age?

Does our scalp need a skin routine too? This may fascinate you.

Our scalp is as fragile and as sensitive as our facial skin and therefore we must take of it as much as we take care of our facial skin. Now it doesn’t mean we need to use five different serums and endless products to keep it healthy. But it does need a little TLC too. How much attention and what we use on our scalp impacts our health quality. Within time it determines how well you age as well. We will forever want to maintain a youthful healthy appearance and it may be about time start paying more attention to our scalp.

I am so excited to partner with Head & Shoulders and share with you guys ways to take better care of your skin. It doesn’t have to be time consuming, or expensive to take care of our scalp. Be selective of your hair products, especially your hair shampoo and conditioner when in the shower. Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky shampoo and conditioner have been recognized to provide moisture, neutralize, restore balance, and detoxify the scalp when used and even received an award by Cosmopolitan. They are the first hare care brand to do so.

I have been using Head & Shoulders for over a decade. It’s always in our shower, great for those days when my scalp is dry and I need extra moisture. Did I mention how great it smells. Even my Husband has his own separate bottle just for himself. He does a little less maintenance and prefers the two in one hair and shampoo from Head & Shoulders. He likes to keep it simple. “Work smarter not harder” as he would say.

Another tip is that I also like to take a little coconut oil and add it to scalp when I throw my hair in braid or a top knot bun. It’s summer time, and some of use spend most days outdoor soaking up rays. Also, don’t forget to add sunblock in your hair crease if you are out in the sun often. I’ve had sun burned on my scalp before as well and that’s no fun.

What are you doing to take care of your skin and scalp? Let me know in the comments.

Muchos besos, Belinda Selene

  1. Hi Belinda, this is great but I prefer to stay away from the chemicals. I’ve tried head and shoulders due to my dry scalp and it did not work! I gave the Innate Life a try and I love it. The Innate Life is a Canadian brand, their products are completely organic! I have been following you for a couple of years, while I think you bring great energy I do feel like you partner with a lot of companies and what you recommend doesn’t feel honest. Now I understand this is your job and I am not shaming your work but at times it’s difficult to follow what brand you truly use since you partner with many. Thank you, I hope this message is benefitial for your future uploads.

  2. It's perfectly normal to lose about 100 hairs per day, no matter your age. For both men and women, it's normal to get thinning hair as you age. It's not uncommon for menopausal women to experience hair thinning and hair loss simultaneously.
